About us
Línea Directa Aseguradora is a leading direct insurance company in Spain. Founded in 1994, it specialises in Motor, Home and Health. The Company ended financial year 2021 with a premium volume of 907.2 million euros, more than 2,500 employees and over 3.3 million customers.
Línea Directa is characterised by its highly technological, direct business model, with a focus on subscription-based insurance. This has transformed how insurance works in Spain.
Listing of the Company
In December 2019, the Board of Directors of Bankinter, S.A. ('Bankinter'), the sole shareholder, announced its intention to turn Línea Directa Aseguradora into a listed company. The General Shareholders' Meeting, held in March 2020, approved the distribution of the full Bankinter share issuance premium through the delivery of Línea Directa shares, subject to approval from the competent regulatory authorities.
The Company completed the process in 2021, being 29 April 2021 its first day of trading.
