Madrid, 9 September 2020.- The car sector in Spain and worldwide is going through one of the most difficult periods in its history. The paralysis of much of the industry due to COVID-19 has wreaked significant havoc. During the most critical months of the pandemic, the sale of cars to individuals dropped almost 73% compared to the same period the previous year and the manufacture of over 350,000 cars was put on hold in the first half of the year alone.

These negative figures are added to the change the vehicle sector has been experiencing over recent years, where consumers are demanding more environmentally-friendly vehicles from the industry. We are therefore facing an unseen scenario in the field of mobility, with greater awareness of sustainability and new ways of getting around that are competing with traditional vehicles.

'Llámalo X' focuses on the value of the insurance and on the customer's needs, in response to the changing mindset of the Spanish consumer, ever more interested in mobility solutions based on technology, innovation and flexibility. A change that economic and regulatory uncertainty, coupled with the crisis generated by COVID-19 and doubts about what the role of cars, and consequently the role of insurance, will be in the future, has accelerated considerably, leading to a collapse in new vehicle sales and the search for new ways of getting around.

The best features at an unbeatable price

The 'Llámalo X' insurance package, partnering with ALD Automotive, a leading company in its sector, stands out for its unique, unbeatable price: €249 a month, 32% cheaper than buying the same new vehicle by itself. The new insurance provides fully comprehensive cover with an excess of €180 and replacement car cover and roadside assistance. With it, the same package includes one of the SUVs in most demand in Spain: a Nissan Qashqai dCi 115 CV E6D with lots of features. The product is valid for three years and, after that, you can renew the policy and, if desired, exchange the vehicle for another one of similar characteristics.  

In addition, 'Llámalo X' allows the customer to forget about things like paying taxes and fees associated with the vehicle, car services, spare parts and maintenance or changing tyres due to wear and tear. Another novelty of the product is its digital nature, as this fully comprehensive insurance will be arranged 100% online, adapting to the current pandemic situation, in an easy, agile, click-through process with an associated telephone hotline provided by the company.

The launch of 'Llámalo X' is part of Línea Directa Aseguradora's Comprehensive Mobility Plan, which includes powerful employee and customer initiatives based on flexibility, digitisation and connectivity.
