Madrid, 13 May 2020. - Línea Directa Aseguradora has donated over 36,000 euros to the "Commercial Management" and "Integrated" programmes, in partnership with the Randstad Foundation, to boost the employment and training of people with disabilities in these difficult times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This donation will enable expansion of Línea Directa's support and commitment through programmes such as "Commercial Management", in which more than 480 people participated in the first quarter of the year alone, with 113 being hired by various companies.

This programme taught by Línea Directa volunteers was launched in 2018 and features a course for people with physical, mental and sensory disabilities. It offers useful training to facilitate employability in commercial roles. The course is being delivered digitally, despite the limitations caused by COVID-19.

The objectives of this programme and the "Integrated" programme are to promote equal opportunities in access to education for people with disabilities, facilitating their integration into employment and work to achieve a fair and inclusive social ecosystem for people with disabilities. A further objective is to develop partnerships to share knowledge, commitment and resources to maximise the positive impact on society.

These initiatives are part of Línea Directa's commitment to diversity and relate to three of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Reducing Inequalities, Promoting Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Quality Education.

Mar Garre, Head of People and Internal Communication at Línea Directa Aseguradora, said: "We are living in difficult times. More than ever before, we must focus on what is important and not forget the most vulnerable people. The challenge of finding decent work is becoming even more difficult for people with disabilities, even though they make a very valuable contribution. That is why Línea Directa wants to continue collaborating in initiatives that foster professional training for people with disabilities. We have found an ideal partner for this in the Randstand Foundation."
